We’re not quite at the end of the year to wrap up everything I’ve read this year (I’m going for a record year, fingers crossed!), but we can definitely start chatting about all the new books coming out in 2025 that I can’t wait to get my hands on. I have litereally over 50 books already on my list, but I’ve narrowed it down to the ones I’m most excited for. Here we go! Here are the 2025 new book releases I’m excited for!
Ok, first up is “A Sea of Unspoken Things” by Adrienne Young publishing January 7th. Young is quickly becoming a must-read author for me. Her twisty magical realism books are so unique and I’m expecting nothing less of this one. I strongly reccomend “The Unmaking of June Farrow”. She also has a few young adult books worth checking out including “Fable”, “Sky in the Deep”, and “Spells For Forgetting”.
Here is one we’re all waiting for. “Onyx Storm” by Rebecca Yarros is hitting shelves January 21st and we’re all counting down the days. If you’re haven’t already jumped on the “Fourth Wing” hype train, now’s the time to do it. The first two books are already out, but rumour is that it’s a 5 book series so there will likely be a cliffhanger, and another year before the next book. A TV series is in pre-production for this one, too!
“Deep End” by Ali Hazelwood is out February 4th. I’m a fan of all of her books so far, especially “Bride”. This one is a college swimming romance, which sounds meh, but I trust Ali! Still waiting on that next “Bride” book though…
The Ruinous Love trilogy by Brynne Weaver is an absolute riot, and if you haven’t read the first two books, you need to go pick them up now. “Scythe & Sparrow” is the third and final book coming out on February 11th. These books are a little twisted as they follow serial killers (don’t worry, they’re good ones?) who fall in love. I always tell people to read the content warnings as they’re a good indication if these books are for you.
“First-Time Caller” by BK Borrison is also publishing on February 11th and I’m expecting this to be absolutely adorable and spicy. Her Lovelight farm series is beyond cute and binge-worthy.
Elsie Silver is my current obsession! She has started my cowboy romance era and I cannot get enough! “Wild Side” is the 3rd book in her new series, coming out March 4th, and is probably the book I’m most excited for. You definitely need to check out her previous books in the Chestnut Springs and Gold Rush Ranch series.
I still haven’t read all of Lucy Score‘s backlog, but I love the Riley Thorn books and she came to my store this year and I got to interview her (bookseller flex), so she has a special place on my shelf and I will be grabbing “Story of my Life” publishing March 11th. They’re labeling this one as “Gilmore Girls meets Schitt’s Creek” and I feel like that’s all you really need to know to want it.
Constance Fay‘s Uncharted Hearts series stole my heart in 2024. These are space romance adventures with some spice! Book 3 “Chaos” will be out March 11th and I cannot wait!
“Say You’ll Remember Me” by Abby Jimenez is out April 1st! She’s become one of my top fav romance writers. She writes wonderful characters you’ll fall in love with. If you haven’t read any of her books, I recommend starting with “Part of Your World”.
More cowboy romance? ok! “Wild and Wrangled” is the 4th and final book in Lyla Sage‘s Rebel Blue Ranch series out April 15th. If you like your romance without that pesky 3rd act break-up, these are for you! I cheated and I’ve actually already read this one, but it’s still one of the top books to look out for in 2025.
Emily Henry is currently the queen of romances. Her books are like wrapping yourself in a warm fuzzy blanket by the fireplace and her next book “Great Big Beautiful Life” is hitting the shelves on April 22nd. Do I even know what this one is about? No, but I’ll be reading it.
Have you read “The Very Secret Society of Irregular Withches” by Sangu Mandanna? No. I’ll just wait here while you do. It is a delightfully sweet, magical romance that I absolutely loved. So I amvery excited for her next book “A Witch’s Guide to Magical Innkeeping” out April 29th. I expect it to be just as wonderful.
If you’re looking for a closed door rom com, Katherine Center is a wonderful writer! Her new book “The Love Haters” out May 30th has fake-dating, one of the best tropes and I am here for it!
This one is for my Disney pals! The Meant to Be series is a Disney adult romance series with modern day retellings. Each book is written by a different author and so far they have done Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid, Tangled and the latest is Mulan in “Worth Fighting For” by Jesse Q Sutanto out June 3rd. What’s even better? It’s a cowboy romance *happy dance*.
Well that only took us to June! I’ll have to do another list once more books get announced. Let me know what books you’re most excited for in 2025!
Valerie

Thank you! Yes! It’s going to be hard to read all the books already on my shelf with all these new books.
